Betula pubescens - Downy Birch

Betula pubescens is a fast growing, deciduous tree with diamond shaped leaves. The young trunk is brown but matures to white with deep fissures. The downy birch has an upright canopy with deep green foliage, turning golden yellow in autumn. It is great for Colder climates and wet soil , growing best in a moist, well drained location.
