Betula albosinensis - Chinese Red Birch
Native to western China, Betula albosinensis is a medium sized birch tree which grows to a maximum height of approximately 10 metres. It has a regular pyramidal crown with small, dark green leaves that turn golden yellow in autumn. Yellow pendulous catkins appear in April and are paired with peeling bark tinged with hints of orange-brown, giving year-round interest. Grows well in almost all soils, in full sun.
