Alnus incana - Grey Alder

Native to Europe, Alnus incana is a large, deciduous tree with a compact crown. Leaves are deep green and around 5-10cm in length. Purple catkins appear in early spring followed by cone like fruits called strobiles. The grey alder is suitable for almost all soils and is tolerant to air pollution, drought, flooding and wind, making it a great tree for any site with suitable space.
