Cornus alternifolia - Pagoda Dogwood

Cornus alternifolia is a medium sized, north American tree growing to a maximum height of around 10 metres. The Pagoda dogwood has horizontal side branches giving it a distinctive tiered shape. its green, ovate, alternate leaves turn red in autumn. White umbel flowers in May are followed by blue black fruits in September. Grows best in partial shade, on moist, free draining, lime free soil.
