Carpinus betulus Monumentalis - Dwarf Hornbeam

Carpinus betulus monumentalis is a slow growing dwarf form of hornbeam, growing to a maximum height of approximately 6 metres. It is similar to the species however its foliage is denser, making it perfect for topiary. Through spring and summer, leaves are a fresh green before turning golden yellow in autumn. Tolerance of poor planting conditions make it an extremely useful plant. It will grow in almost all soils and exposures.
