Prunus dulcis - Almond tree

Commonly known as the almond tree, Prunus dulcis is an upright, deciduous tree with a broad crown. Delicate pinky-white flowers with a fragrant scent, bloom on bare branches in early spring. The blossom is followed joined by long glossy green leaves which turn golden yellow in autumn. The fruits are green and oval-shaped shaped with edible almond nuts hidden inside.

Best grown in moist, well-drained soil in full sun.
