Picea omorika - Pancic Spruce

Picea omorika is a fast growing, evergreen conifer with a straight trunk and narrow growing habit. Foliage is dark with drooping branches that turn upwards at the ends. Needles are dark green with two stripes underneath, visible due to the way the branches bend. Purple flowers are followed by an abundance of cones which hang from the tree; at first they are purple, turning to a brown as they age. Best grown in full sun in fertile, well drained soil.
