Ginkgo biloba Fastigiata - Maidenhair Tree
Ginkgo biloba Fastigiata is a cultivar of the Maidenhair tree, selected for its upright, narrow crown and beautiful golden autumn colour. The main stem is smooth and completely straight, bearing lateral branches. The fan-shaped leaf is deep green, turning golden yellow in autumn. Small yellow-green flowers bloom on short shoots in April time. ‘fastigiata’ is a male selection and therefore does not produce fruit, making it a perfect tree for avenues and as a street tree. Grows best in full sun in moist, well drained soil.
