Fagus sylvatica Purpurea Pendula - Weeping Purple Beech

Fagus sylvatica Purpurea Pendula is a small weeping purple beech tree. Unlike the usual Fagus trees, the variety grows to a maximum height of approximately 5 metres, making it perfect for smaller gardens. Its broad, dense crown is made up of ovate, deep reddish-brown leaves in a weeping form. Small catkins bloom in May followed by spiny fruits in autumn. Best grown in full sun with moist, well-drained soil.
