Fagus sylvatica Dawyck Purple - Dawyck Purple Beech

Fagus sylvatica Dawyck Purple is a tall, upright tree with a columnar, dense crown. It is very similar to the green and gold cultivars of Dawyck but slightly narrower. Leaves are vibrant deep purple turning bronze in autumn. Does best on fertile, well drained soils; avoid clay.
