Acer palmatum Sangokaku - Coral Bark Japanese Maple

Known as the coral bark maple, Acer palmatum Sangokaku is a superb selection of Japanese maple. Deeply lobed leaves emerge pinkish green in spring turning lime green through summer and soft yellow in autumn. Coral red stems on young branches give year-round attraction. Does best in full sun, in a sheltered position on moist but well drained soil.
