Aesculus pavia Atrosanguinea - Red Buckeye

Aesculus pavia Atrosanguinea, also known as red buckeye, is native to Southern and Eastern parts of the United States. It is a tall, upright shrub growing to a maximum height of 15 metres. The leaves unfold a reddish tone later turning a light green. They are in groups of 5/7 leaflets and change to a golden yellow in autumn. Dark red flowers appear in erect panicles 10-15cm in length. Best grown in a moist, sheltered location.
