Fagus sylvatica Dawyck Gold is a tall, upright tree with a columnar, dense crown. Leaves emerge golden yellow in spring turning to a pale green in summer, later changing to glowing shades of yellow in autumn. Small catkins hang from the tree in spring and are followed by nuts in spikey capsules. Best grown in a moist, well drained location.
