Pyrus communis - Common Pear
Also known as the common pear, Pyrus communis is a large, deciduous tree with a columnar growing habit. Its branches can occasionally be thorny and have alternate, glossy green leaves which arrive light green in spring and change to a golden yellow in autumn.
Clusters of white flowers bloom in spring and are followed by the fruit of the tree. In autumn, fruits grow on long stalks and ripen to a golden yellow. They have a sweet, grainy texture.
Best grown in full sun with free draining soil.
