Pyrus communis Doyenne du Comice is a popular variety of dessert pear, bearing fruits in mid to late autumn with a sweeter taste. Blossom arrives earlier than most trees in early spring with clusters of white flowers. Leaves are glossy green turning golden yellow in autumn.
