Prunus domestica - European Plum

Commonly known as the European plum, Prunus domestica is a small, deciduous tree with a rounded crown and drooping branches. Green leaves are oval with serrated margin, turning orange red in autumn. White blossom appears in early spring which is followed by edible plums (colour varies depending on the cultivar). These are smooth, oblong shape with a flat stone inside.

Best grown in a sheltered location in full sun on moist, well-drained soil.
