Larix decidua - Common Larch
Larix decidua is a deciduous conifer with a straight trunk and narrow, pyramidal crown. Long, bright green needles are in bunches with up to 40 to a group. As the needles age, they turn to a yellow in autumn. Small yellow flowers bloom in spring followed by upright, dark red cones in autumn. Best grown in full sun on almost all soils. Does particularly well in exposed locations and can tolerate air pollution.
