Cotinus coggygria Royal Purple - Purple Smoketree

Cotinus coggygria Royal Purple is a bushy, deciduous shrub growing to a maximum height of approximately 5 metres. It has a broad, dense crown with smooth bark and dark branches. The leaves are ovate and deep purple, turning burnt orange in autumn. Large panicles of flowers bloom in early summer followed by small, flattened nuts in autumn. Best grown in full sun on almost all soils. Tolerant to air pollution and wind.
